Dr. Kao is a double board-certified Pain Medicine as well as Rehabilitation physician. He is Clinic Chief at Stanford Pain. Prior to pursuing medicine, he obtained his PhD at Harvard as a Howard Hughes Fellow. His graduate studies included machine learning, statistical genetics, and genomics.
Dr. Kao has a wide range of clinical experiences as a primary care physician, a rehabilitation physician, and pain specialist in an academic medical center clinic. He is certified for advanced pain procedures via Certified Interventional Pain Sonologist (CIPS) and Fellow of Interventional Pain Practice (FIPP).
